True or false?

Rimu class had to write true or false stories about our holidays. Can you guess is mine True or false? (comment if it is true or false).

On the first Sunday of school holidays Prudence and I had a sleepover in my grandparents caravan for two nights! When she arrived we made a taste test video to put on YouTube. It was sad because we didn't like most of the crap (Read: Sugary) food she brought but we ate it anyway ¨Lol!¨. Then we started making a video and we walked down to the park.

We had so many bloopers it was hilarious! When we were walking (Read: Giggling) back the caravan on the back of my grandparents truck started driving to our house and we tried to chase it but it was to fast and we came back puffed.

When the caravan was set up we got all our clothes and toiletry stuff. Then we set up the computers and played on minecraft. Then we had dinner (Read: burgers) and watched Into the woods! And then we went on the trampoline and I started singing a song and I yelled a bit of it and Prudence ran back to the caravan like nothing happened.

Van Gogh's "Starry Night".

Over the past six weeks the Year 6’s did some painting. It was collaborative art. It was fun, we were painting van Gogh’s “Starry night”. I used long dabs to make a mountain. I chose a small brush and I added more dabs of black paint to create the dark mountain. Well we were talking about how van Gogh’s earlobe came off and I came up with the quote of the week, “I love my earlobes.”

We used SOLO to describe our painting skills. My thinking is Relational because I can describe several things about van Gogh paintings and explain why I used this skill in this way. My next step is to describe how his painting skills impacted on our world and the influence he has had as an artist.

You did what?

Grace, Violet and I were loading our stuff into Mr. M’s car for Hamner camp. We hopped in and drove out the school gate. I ‘kinda’ felt sick but I think it was because I had drank too much water. It took us a long time to just reach Culverden and I had a sore butt because I had been sitting too long. We met a cute dog at the park. It took a long time to reach the forest camp and when we arrived we had to do an activity.

The activity I had to do was tree climbing, it hurt my legs but I made it up higher than I thought I would. Then we had free time, I made my bed and did some acapella singing (LOL).  Then Grace (My roommate) came back from the walk to the waterfall, she made her bed and then we had dinner.

For Dinner we had lasagne, it was all right, and for dessert I had an ice block while everyone else had chocolate pudding. Then we got to go to the pools and I went on the hydroslides including the super bowl, it was fun when Grace and I went on a double tube and we went down backwards!

When we got back we had a shower and then we went to bed and talked for a long time. We went to sleep with a night light on I got a sore back though. I didn't really like the food and the beds.  I want better food. I enjoyed spending time with my friends.

Point-of-view writing

Point-of-view
Our writing task last week was to write a short essay explaining point-of-view R.J Palacio used when writing the story “wonder”. We had to find examples from the text like Like quotes and then use Examples from the text two to back up our answers from the text. I am really enjoying the book but I did not enjoy Writing this essay. Anyway I hope you enjoy:
In the book by R.J Palacio “Wonder” it  is written in first person we know this because he says “I and My” for
example:
I know I'm no ordinary 10 year old I mean sure I do normal things like eat ice-cream I ride my bike I play ball and I have a Xbox stuff like that makes me ordinary”.

As a second example August says at the beginning of the book:
“If I found a magic lamp and had one wish I would wish that I had a normal face”

Just to sum up my story I am going to share with you this quote from the story:

.“But I know other ordinary kids don't make other ordinary kids run away screaming in the playground”
